We found a National Park in the backyard of Kim’s Grandma so of course we had to go!  This was my first time getting to experience a National Park through somebody who knows it extremely well.  Kim was a great tour guide.

It started with Kim nonchalantly asking “Hey, would you want to go with me to England?” and I couldn’t think of a reason to say no to that.  I put the van into storage mode, packed my bags and off we were to a new country!

Kim already had plans to visit Salt Lake City so I decided to piggyback and take a vacation from my vacation.  I enjoyed being able to be the one sitting back at the lodge while Kim went off skiing at Snowbird.  Plus getting to focus on things that aren’t completely outdoors was a nice change of pace.

The first time Kim met me on the road was for a weekend getaway to Zion National Park in Arizona.  After a flight into Las Vegas we retreated immediately to places less touristy and got to enjoy the beauty of Zion without all the people.  January is a very good time to go if you get the chance.
